Tehran street food: A bite of Tehran

Si e-Tir Street is one of the oldest streets and the most famous food streets in Tehran, which is known as the first street food center of the capital. In addition to street stalls and cafes, this street also has prominent historical attractions. Several historical museums and religious buildings with more than 100 years of history are located on Si e-Tir Street. Religious buildings in this street belong to followers of different religions. Fire Temple, Jewish Church and Synagogue are among the most important religious buildings on Si e-Tir Street, which is the reason why this street is known as "Adyan Street; Religions Street" .

Si e-Tir Street is one of the busiest tourist places in Tehran. The presence of street food stalls in this street and their activity until late at night causes the presence of many tourists in this area, especially at night. On many occasions throughout the year, such as Nowruz night, this street is decorated and street bands perform in it. 


Before the Islamic revolution, Si Tir street was known as "Qawam al-Sultaneh" street, which was because Ahmed Qawam, one of the prime ministers of the Qajar and Pahlavi eras, lived on this street. After the revolution, the name of Qawam Street was changed to Si e-Tir, inspired by the 30th Uprising of 1952.

Si e-Tir  Street dates back to before Pahlavi rule, and due to the presence of a large patient house on this street, in the distant past, it was known as Patient House Street. This street is one of the most important and historical streets of Tehran, which has witnessed different events in different historical periods. 

Cafes and restaurants on Sea Tire Street are food trucks and offer different types of street food to their customers. All kinds of cold and hot drinks are also available in this street and they attract tourists to this area all the days of the year. Many history buffs visit the museums and buildings of Si e-Tir Street and devote time to sitting on the wooden benches of this street and having drinks and food.

Some food carriage are placed between the fixed food trucks on Si e-Tir Street, which provide tourists with foods such as beetroot and hot beans "baghali" according to the weather in each season of the year.
