Khan garden

Bagh Khan Shushtar is located on the western edge of the Gregar River and next to the old structure of Shushtar and is one of the heritages of the Qajar period architecture in Khuzestan. The water of this garden is supplied through the channels required by Shushtar's waterfalls and mills. Bagh Khan complex is a variety of gardens located by the river and its main trees are fruit trees. Of course, there are trees and shrubs of ornamental flowers such as roses and Mohammedan flowers, Shahpasand flowers, paper flowers and Abbasid tulips. This historical monument is one of the most famous places in Shushtar and has been registered in the list of national monuments of Iran.
Khan Shushtar Gardens has an area of about one thousand and sixty square meters. In one garden unit, but in the past, it has been separated into two gardens, upper and lower. The lower garden is on the right side and the upper garden is on the left side of Sabat.
The water required for the gardens is supplied through the canals of the waterfalls and mills. Considering this, although these gardens are referred to as the gardens of the Qajar period, we can safely say that the irrigation network and water supply channels of these gardens belong to the Sassanid era and at the same time as the historical area of the waterfalls.
Both gardens have stone and brick fences that have been renovated and restored in different periods. The main geometric structure of Iranian gardens is square and rectangular, which is also the case with Khan Shushtar gardens. These gardens have regular divisions. The trees are placed in regular rows and almost equal distances, which creates paths and passages that represent a special effect of Iranian gardens.
There is a bathroom overlooking Khan's gardens, which also belongs to the Marashi family. The bathroom is located next to the old fabric of the city and next to the Marashi residential house. The bathroom, like the architecture of old Iranian bathrooms, includes a bathhouse, a greenhouse, and a dome.
